What are your thoughts on this ?

So I could write a whole essay on this topic. Let me start by saying this. I am from a family where cousins married. My parents were also cousins however my dad said when I came to the age of marriage that because it had been at minimum three previous generations in my family who were cousins that we would be the ones that wouldn’t marry cousins simply as he said there could be problems and he would never risk that for us. He got it.

Now my thoughts on this. I don’t think there is anything wrong with marrying a cousin at all as long as it’s not generation after generation after generation due to the problems that can occur as a result. Disabilities. Diabetes. Illnesses that have higher chances staying within the gene pool with a greater chance of kids having problems or worse a greater chance of disability. There needs to be that break. However saying that there is nothing wrong with it is one thing BUT I have first hand seen the problems that can occur as a result within families between khalas and phupos and chachiya and mamiya and full in family feuds happening as a result etc etc. So many women on @boldeeya contacted me. Although in theory you know everything about that family and somewhat you know how your niece or nephew is and everything should be happy happy it has a chance to pull families apart completely. So much so that you can never talk to them again. It also is a way for families to have a subservient person from pak or india who will do as she or he is told and can be moulded according to the way the family operates. In other words dab jaana under the favours of the family bringing that person to the UK or to control them.

In conclusion I get why families do it and the happiness of it but I don’t think it’s always a good idea especially if it’s been a long line of cousin marriages.

Saying that my mum and dad has three healthy children Alhumdulillah. I am one of them. I married outwith family and Alhumdulillah I have three healthy children. Give a break somewhere just to be safe. But if these guys make it illegal phair gal ee khatam. Par enna noo pata kidda lagoo ga. They can’t enforce this I don’t think.

You can wear your jewels over and over@for different functions even after your wedding. For example say you purchase this set for your mehendi with a choker.

1. Earrings tikka
2. Choker earrings
3. Jhumar and earrings
4. Full set
5. Earrings on their own
6. Choker with a different pair of studs
7. Choker and tikka only. No earrings.

Point being that’s 7 functions you have utilised your one mehendi/ bridal set. I’ve had brides do this with their bridal sets we have made for them and style differently time after time over years as our jewellery lasts.

I just discovered that I can get good pics at home

I just discovered that I can get good pics at home after I get back from late nights out partying with my lovely elders 😀😀. Also can someone just tell me which lampshades to get. It baffles me. Really need to sort it. I need to sort a lot of things yet man for the house. Time ee naee melda.

Such a nice night out with my in laws. They haven’t ever been to an awards show like this but I do think they prefer watching on the tv at home. They were telling me other day nadia we watched hum awards at home. I was like taanu o zayada set baithya huna aa. Meaning they probably enjoyed that more but I’m sure they loved experiencing seeing them in real too.

You know what I feel many of our generation is getting as I see it !! Self centred and selfish and consumed with socials. We are 100% busy of course. With our kids and our work and our houses and it ain’t easy but it wasn’t easy for them either. We all have our hardships. Difference is they bent over backwards for their elders. Not saying we should all do as they did as some elders can be horrible to their younger ones and I do feel respect breeds respect. However I do also feel many ppl in our desi community are going in the direction of the western world and becoming all about me me me. Seeing their parents only at Christmas. But what about them. What about the very generation who struggled all their lives to raise you or your husband. What about those elders who can’t go out on their own. What about those elders who actually are living in their comfort zone but from time to time would be like to taken out. What about those who long to see you day in day out but you don’t go to see them.

I do love concerts. Thank you to the random guy who offered to take my pic coz he could see me struggling with it. 😂😂
