The diva has always been on top of the best-dressed lists of Bollywood swaying everyone with her fashion choices. Both Katrina and Vicky were styled by Anaita Shroff for their big day and Sabyasachi Mukherjee was the designated designer for the couple’s wedding attire. The bride Katrina Kaif looked every bit royal dressed in a beautifully designed Sabyasachi wedding ensemble of a gorgeous saree in hues of bright red and gold, adorned in gorgeous Sabyasachi jewelry on her big day. From minimalistic details and elegant choices to a mix of traditional and contemporary silhouettes, Katrina’s bridal look was what dreams are made of.
The red bridal lehenga was of handwoven matka silk with fine gold tilla work and meticulously embroidered revival zardozi borders in velvet. The gorgeous dupatta had zari work all along the border. The beautifully embroidered choli featured a plunging V-neckline. In homage to Vicky Kaushal’s Punjabi roots, Katrina’s veil was custom-trimmed with handmade kiran in hand-beaten silver electroplated in gold.
The makeup look made her look like pure royalty with dark, sooty black liner and dramatic lashes framing her eyes complementing her dewy skin as well as nude lips.
The diva accentuated her bridal look with bespoke bridal jewelry of uncut diamonds in 22k gold detailed with hand-strung pearls from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry. Katrina opted for a single statement neckpiece, a gorgeous choker filled with uncut diamonds. She wore a beautiful kundan matha-patti on her forehead. Along with the matha-patti, she wore pretty gold jhumkas to add a beautiful traditional touch to her wedding look. The dulhan also adorned a huge ‘nathni’, or ‘nose-ring’ adding a royal charm.
The actress chose to complete her glamed up look with majestic wedding rings that featured diamonds and sapphires. Katrina also wore bracelets, kaleera and the red choora – a set of bangles traditionally worn by a bride on her wedding day that gave her the look of a traditional Punjabi bride. The Kaleera were custom designed by Rahul Luthra and made by Mrinalini Chandra for her wedding. Her gold accessories featured bespoke bird charms with custom messages on them by Katrina herself. Each of the bangles she wore ahead of her red chooda, carried 6-7 messenger doves. Her kaleeras also contained words engraved on them from the Bible. The detail that stole the show was her adorable Mangalsutra with two small drop-down diamonds. Needless to say, Katrina looked no less than a princess.
The groom Vicky Kaushal was the epitome of royalty, wearing an ivory silk sherwani with intricate marori embroidery and iconic Sabyasachi handcrafted gold plated Bengal Tiger buttons, with a silk kurta and churidar. He also wore a tussar georgette shawl with a zari marori embroidered pallu and borders to accentuate the look of royalty. The safa was equally special and was paired with a handcrafted kilangi and statement necklace studded in emeralds, brilliant cut and rose cut diamonds, quartz and tourmalines in 18k gold from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry.
